The Bahamas and The UAE

  Located in two widely separated regions, The Bahamas and the UAE (United Arab Emirates) both enjoy an excellent and beneficial relationship. For the first time in their diplomatic relations an Ambassador of The Bahamas to the UAE was named on November 23rd 2016.


The two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Mutual Exemption of Entry Visa Requirements for holders of Diplomatic, Special/Official service and ordinary passports and gives citizens the right to visit the other country for up to 90 days as a visitor.


A MOU was also signed on Political Consultations, which makes provisions for the two countries to consult and meet regularly, to discuss bilateral issues of interest, as well as matters in the region and international relations.


An Air Services Agreement (ASA) was signed between the two countries, that will enable scheduled flights between The Bahamas and the UAE.


In a quest to depend less on fossil fuels, both countries partnered together to build a 1Mw solar car park at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium, Nassau, The Bahamas. This initiative was funded by the UAE Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund.


The UAE has also donated laptops to The Ministry of Education and Incubators to the Bahamas Ministry of Health.

In October 2021, The Bahamas

will participate in

the exciting Expo2020 in Dubai, UAE.
